Mount Kalaga National Park sits on Leonida's northern fringe. Rockstar's official description promises hunting, fishing and off-road trails, with “hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals” living in the backwoods far from government eyes.
The Extended Look's activity montage — hunting, dirt bikes, base jumping, parachuting — maps naturally onto this biome. If Vice City is the satire of Miami wealth, Kalaga is the satire of rural America that GTA has always parked at the edge of the city.
The real Leonida behind Mount Kalaga
Lummox County. North Florida, southern Georgia and the southern Appalachians. The canyons echo Providence Canyon in Georgia; the summit resembles Table Rock in western North Carolina; the river and its bridge are drawn from the Suwannee.
